Available extraction templates and their outputs.

Templates define what information to extract from podcast transcripts. Each template produces a separate markdown file.

Purpose: Episode overview and key takeaways
Output file: summary.md
Best for: All episodes
Extracted content:
- Episode overview
- Key takeaways (3-5 bullet points)
- Main themes discussed
- Practical applications

Provider Assignment¶
Different templates use different providers by default:

Override with --provider:
Template Versioning¶
Templates include version numbers for cache invalidation:
When a template is updated:
- Version number increases
- Prompt/template hash changes
- Cache is invalidated for that template/provider/model/schema combination
- New extractions use updated prompt
Extraction cache keys also include transcript hash, provider, model, prompt hash, output schema version, and cache format version. See Cache Behavior.
